About Dr. Joshi
 |
Dr. Nisha Joshi is the director of Swaranjali Academy of Indian Music. Dr. Joshi was born and raised in Rajasthan, India. Her father was a music enthusiast who encouraged his five children to study music and dance. Dr. Joshi grew up studying North Indian classical music and learning folk songs and dances. She earned her Ph.D. in Hindustani vocals from Delhi University, where she later taught before moving to Oklahoma in 1985 and Portland, Oregon in 1990. Dr. Joshi has taught elementary through college-level students for more than 25 years. |
